Regional Head - Africa

We are hiring dynamic and experienced Regional Head - Africa to lead our operations across the continent, manage our Tier-1 client and partner portfolio, and support our data and research in the region. The role will focus on these core areas:
Driving growth and nurturing Briter Bridges’ network of clients and partners.
Developing strategic partnerships across the continent.
Managing our team and resources across the African continent.
Overseeing the regular production of insights and research for both flagship and client publications.
Core responsibilities
🛞 Strategy and growth
Define and execute Briter Bridges’ strategic agendas and objectives across Africa. This includes representing major initiatives such as AgBase.
Lead expansion efforts across new areas of business and markets in Africa, focusing on existing and new clients, growth opportunities and partnership development.
Drive revenue generation through new business development and client acquisition, particularly in areas such as technology, climate innovation, agtech, innovation, innovation for development, venture capital and business financing.
🫱🏼🫲🏾 Client, partnerships, stakeholder engagement and success
Manage high-level relationships with key stakeholders, including governments, DFIs, corporates, and investors. This will include large, strategic clients working with us on multi-year contracts.
Act as a public face for Briter Bridges at major industry events, speaking on panels and driving thought leadership on Africa’s investment landscape. The role will involve travelling within and outside of Africa.
Design bespoke solutions for and drive conversation with clients looking for deep insights and data on Africa’s emerging markets.
Develop and maintain media relations with journalists.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local partners, governments, and businesses to support Briter’s market expansion efforts.
Identify and secure partnerships that can enhance Briter’s presence and influence in the African market.
🧑🏽💻 Team leadership and operations
Lead and manage the Africa team. Report to the Directors on KPIs and overall company’s performance.
Ensure that operational processes are in place to support the regional strategy.
Collaborate closely with Briter Bridges’ management team to ensure regional alignment with other emerging markets operations and strategic goals.
📊 Data and market intelligence
Oversee data collection efforts and research production across key African markets, ensuring that insights align with client needs and the broader business strategy and editorial line.
Guide the team in publishing research reports, products, and insights related to the region.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market trends and provide actionable intelligence to clients across the region. This includes participating in the life of the ecosystem, joining events, panels, and discussions.
Qualifications and experience
7-10 years of experience in African markets, preferably in sectors such as management consulting, investment, data, or business intelligence.
Proven track record in team leadership, client management, and business growth across multiple African countries.
Proven track record having successfully worked with major names such as government agencies, foundations, top-tier corporates, and investors operating on the continent.
Strong understanding of the data landscape and experience in leveraging insights to drive business decisions.
Excellent relationship-building skills with key regional stakeholders, including investors, corporates, and policymakers.
An existing network of high-level contacts within Africa’s investment and corporate communities is a plus.
Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages spoken in Africa (e.g., Arabic, French, Swahili) is an advantage.

Location
The Regional Head - Africa role will be based in Nairobi, Kenya 🇰🇪 (or Cape Town 🇿🇦) and will involve international travels.
