Graphic and Interactive Designer

Based in Lagos 🇳🇬, Nairobi 🇰🇪, or Bogotá 🇨🇴
The candidate we are after will:
be highly proficient in written 🖊️ and spoken 🎤 English, and ideally have working knowledge of another language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese);
demonstrate strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and data visualization software like Tableau or Power BI 🖥️;
be detail-oriented and able to maintain brand consistency across all outputs;
have an eye for visual storytelling and experience creating interactive graphics and data visualizations 📊;
possess an understanding of UX/UI principles to create intuitive and user-friendly experiences for digital platforms;
have a genuine interest in the intersections of data, design, technology 📱, and business opportunities 💼 across emerging markets 🌍;
be familiar with design best practices and B2B/B2G industry needs, especially for sectors such as investment, startups, and economic development;
be digitally competent 💻, ready to learn new tools and software through online tutorials and self-guided learning.
Good-to-haves
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree 🎓 in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Interaction Design, or a related field, or demonstrable relevant experience;
4-5 years of experience in graphic and interactive design, particularly in data visualization and digital media;
experience in B2B or B2G sectors, ideally within emerging markets, and/or working with complex data sets;
knowledge of front-end web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for basic interactive designs;
a passion for continuous learning through resources like Coursera, TED, and Udemy;
portfolio showcasing interactive or data-driven projects.
The candidate’s tasks will include:
Designing interactive data visualizations, infographics, and layouts for Briter’s Intelligence platform, dashboards, and reports;
Collaborating with research, data, and product teams to refine UX/UI for data platforms, ensuring user engagement and clarity;
Creating and curating visual assets for social media, marketing, and client-facing materials, including presentations and visual reports;
Supporting data processing and design of large datasets with precision, making complex information digestible for diverse audiences;
Contributing to the maintenance and ongoing improvement of Briter’s analytics platform;
Assisting the team during calls or meetings and capturing design-related notes for project continuity.

We are now looking to expand our team and add a Data Analyst to the family to support our research by providing background data collection and operational support. The candidate will report directly to the Insights Lead and Director of Research and will be working alongside other Data and Research Analysts.
